A high intensity compact plasma treatment system has been developed
for film treatment prior to metallization. An in-line design and compact
size permit the plasma reactor to be installed in existing web metallizers
with minor modifications. Customized designs can be provided for special
applications. A very high intensity plasma will be developed
in the reactor based on several parameters that include the following:
- Hollow Cathode, Resonant Cavity Design
- High Power Ceramic Magnet Assist, Focused on the Film Surface
- High Power
- Reactor Operates at a Frequency that Maximizes Film Treatment
- Uniform Gas Pressure in the Reactor Volume
- A Plasma as Mixture Designed for High Plasma Efficiency and
Surface Functionalization
- 100% Ground - External Surface Construction. The plasma
is limited to the reactor volume, to maximize power transfer to
the plasma volume and to prevent degradation of polymer components
in the chamber, electrical shorts, and interference with other
equipment.
- Quick One-step Loading of the Film Through the Reactor
- Stainless Steel, Water-cooled Construction
- Electronic Controls for Gas Flow
- Cross-sections as Small as 2.5" X 2.5"
- Web Widths 10 Feet or Higher
- Larger Reactors Can Be Designed to Meet Specific Customer Requirements
